This year’s Federal Budget included several welcome wins for small and medium enterprises (SMEs), many of which I have been advocating for years based on your feedback. These include;

• Making the $20,000 instant asset write-off permanent
• Measures to cut red tape for businesses
• New tax loss carry-back measures to improve liquidity and encourage investment and growth
• Measures to address the skills shortages
• Additional support aimed at boosting innovation and productivity

However, there are significant concerns about the impact of the Government's proposed Capital Gains Tax and family trust changes on start-ups, entrepreneurship and family businesses. The Government has acknowledged this and committed to consulting with the sector and addressing it. I will be holding the government to account on this that’s why I need to hear from you.
