I never used to pay much attention to politics, but the emergence of community Independents sparked a keen interest and I have realised how a good democracy should be more than just voting in an election – our voices should be heard in between elections too.

In my view, we have found in Sophie an authentic, compassionate, intelligent and courageous MP, who genuinely seeks to serve our community.  Finally, I feel we now have a voice in Canberra and a MP who is not afraid to tackle the difficult issues.  I’m inspired by Sophie’s unrelenting hard work and dedication to Mackellar, her collaborative style and her efforts to improve our democracy.  I love to support Sophie and her team where I can and my involvement ranges from helping to keep volunteers connected to any ad hoc activity where a call for volunteers is put out.
