Last week, the Federal Government announced changes to the stage 3 tax cuts which are to come into effect on July 1. The details of the changes are here.
Under the new model, around 85% of people paying income tax will be better off. However, the tax rebate will not be as big for those who have a taxable income above $146,000. The changes are controversial because the government has consistently said it would implement the stage 3 tax cuts in their original form.
