The EOI period for the current round of federal Volunteer Grants, administered by the Department of Social Services (DSS) closed at 5pm on Wednesday 18 March 2026.

This is a 2 step application process. 

Step 1 - all EOIs received by the deadline will be vetted by the Mackellar Independent Community Grants Committee who advise Dr Scamps on the organisations to be nominated to DSS by 17 April, 2026. 

Step 2 - DSS then issues invitations to eligible organisations to apply for a grant.

Volunteer Grants provide financial assistance to community groups to support the work of volunteers and sustain volunteer involvement.
